How This Web Site Makes Me Money And Why It Wouldn't Exist Without "SiteBuildit"

Thursday just after midday: at home looking out over the sea and hills in West Wales.

'SiteBuildIt' (I'll explain what that is in a minute) has enabled me to achieve a goal I never thought I would tackle - that is to earn money from my own web site without hiring a specialist web designer.

But why did I want a web site containing loads of articles that I would have to write? Remember, when you want to achieve a goal you must have a very strong reason why.

Otherwise, you can just get fed up half way through and chuck it all in. Failing to identify a strong enough reason why is the cause of most people failing to achieve their goals.

In fact, what I'm trying to do in this article is demonstrate certain key lessons on achieving personal goals based on my experience of building this web site.

So, I have to start by explaining about the reason why I built this web site. It's all about my desire for financial freedom. You see, I have always wanted to earn money even when I'm on holiday.

It's not that I'm lazy, I just don't want to be trapped by the routine of 9 to 5 office life.

Sure I spent years doing the 9 to 5 - but to me it's like prison. So my aim is to create sources of income that pay me even when I'm sleeping. Have a look at this picture which explains my motivation quite well I think.

Having an Internet business is one way to do it. Here was my plan: Step 1 - build a successful web site (hard work). Step 2 - attract visitors to my site (a mystery to most people!). Step 3 - watch the money come in (easy bit).

I knew it was possible but I'd never hit on the winning formula. You see, I've always had plenty of ideas and I like writing, but I'm not a techie. In fact I have never had an interest in learning 'html code' or whatever it is that webmasters use.

I have set up web sites before. Well that's not quite true. On previous projects I have employed web experts to turn my ideas into a web site - and I've been very grateful for their help.

I was already earning a small amount of money from web sites and I was always on the look-out for how to improve what I was doing. Then, one day while I was trawling the Internet, I came across "sitebuildit".

Follow in my footsteps if you like and you can see what I learnt.

To start with I found how to earn money from advertising revenue (and that's how I make money from this site). You can download this Free Home Study Course from the Sitebuildit guys which explains how to do this.

When I came across Site Build It I realised that there was a much more surefire way of making money with a website than what I had been trying. That was the key reason why I chose sitebuildit.

I learnt that it's not a quick fix. Attracting visitors to your web site is achieved by providing good quality articles like I've tried to do on this site.

Not only that - with sitebuildit I could do it all myself. I wouldn't need to employ a web expert. That would save costs but, much more importantly to me, it would also save time. I could 'put up' a page, look at it right away, tweak it and move on.

Sure, it would mean a bit of work - writing quite a few pages of high value information. But, as Site Build It advises, if you choose a topic that interests you, that isn't really a problem. Just take one step at a time like with any goal.

What made sitebuildit so attractive to me was that it deals with all the technical aspects of building a website: researching the market, building web pages, dealing with search engines, setting up links within the site or with other sites - and so on.

All I had to do was write the content. Of course I had to provide my own motivation and persistence - just like anyone has to do when trying to achieve a goal.

Anyway, if you like the sound of all that you think that you might like to build your own money making web site (on a topic that really interests you) then have a look at the Sitebuildit Action Guide.

This guide contains the exact instructions I used to build this site. And of course, that's another key to achieving any goal: copy someone else's success formula.

Finally, if you have any questions about Sitebuildit, just email the sitebuildit guys and they'll be happy to help. Asking for help from people with relevant knowledge: that's important.

And so is finding evidence that other people have done what you're trying to do. So, here are some case studies of other sitebuildit owners who have done a much better job than me of building a web site.

You can achieve your goals too! Good luck!

Why Self Image is Vital to Success
