Before starting to build this web site I'd never heard of Gary Ryan Blair, known as the 'goals guy'. However, once I'd read his goals book Goals 101, I realised that it would be worth me reviewing more of his publications. Let me start by telling you what you get when you sign up for the Personal Strategic Plan platinum program. To my reckoning there are 6 ebooks and 22 audio ebooks. You download these so that you listen to the audios on your computer, and print off the ebooks or read them on screen. The longer audio ebooks last about an hour. I have written separate reviews of two of these: Everything Counts and The Power Of Focus. The basic theme of the Personal Strategic Plan is very similar to the philosophy of the Stephen Covey classic seven habits self help book, and indeed Gary Ryan Blair acknowledges this. The idea is this. You need to sort out what your life is all about before you start setting your goals. Just like Stephen Covey, Gary Ryan Blair gets you to write down your mission statement, your core values and your lifetime objectives. If you don't like the idea of all that planning, then this program is probably not for you. However, Gary Ryan Blair says that proper planning will save you time down the road ten times over. I have to say that I enjoy Gary Ryan Blair's spoken delivery style. He doesn't waffle. He gets straight to the point and, if you're taking notes, you'd better be a quick writer. I also find him a top class inspirational speaker. For example, I found the audio 'The Secret Of High Performance very motivating. I also liked the music at the start of each audio. So the Personal Strategic Plan is an interesting mix of inspiration and practical hard-hitting advice on setting and achieving goals. It certainly has my very strong recommendation.
