Best Audio Book Programs
For Achieving Your Goals

Audio Book Programs are a great way of improving your chances of achieving your goals.

First, they can help you improve the skills you need. Second, they help keep you focused. Third, listening to self help tapes can be a productive way of spending time in the car.

There are loads of self help audio books that are relevant to you in your goals quest. What I've done here is to pick out what I consider to be the best that I've listened to. Here goes:

The New Psycho-Cybernetics Dr Maxwell Maltz and Dan Kennedy
Don't let the weird name psycho-cybernetics put you off. This program explains why the key to achieving your goals is your creative imagination rather than dogged willpower, and relaxation more than persistence. Based on the Maxwell Maltz classic 1960's book Psychocybernetics, this audio book says that you have to build your self image through mind training - so you can achieve your goals faster and with much less strain than you thought possible.

The Sedona Method Hale Dwoskin
Though very different in style, this audio book echoes the theme that the most effective way to achieve your goals is through relaxation techniques rather than gritted teeth. By the way, this is one tape set that you shouldn't listen to while driving - it's way too relaxing. If you visit the Sedona web site you'll find testimonials from highly respected authors like Brian Tracy, Mark Victor Hanson and Susan Jeffers.

The Ultimate Goals Program Brian Tracy
One good feature of this audio book is that it's very practical. It is very thorough and takes you through choosing your goals, setting goals, and monitoring your progress. Brian Tracy is an extremely well known self help author. One reason I think it's worth listening to him is that he has a successful track record in business - in other words, he's not 'just a self help guru'.

The Seven Habits Stephen Covey
'The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People' is one of my favourite self help books. However, I have to say that I don't like listening to Stephen Covey on tape. So this is not one of my favourite audio book programs. Nevertheless, I think the habits of 'proactivity', 'beginning with the end in mind', and 'putting first things first' are extremely important if you are seeking to achieve a goal.

The 80/20 Principle Richard Koch
The 80/20 Principle is another of my favourite self help books. Essentially it's about time management and how to focus on activities that will have the biggest impact in terms of getting the results you want. When you really start thinking in an 80/20 way and asking 'What's the easiest way I can achieve my goal', you might take some very different decisions over how you spend your time.
